Is it permissible to take interest from dealing in hard currency with foreign clients in a tourism company?

If an employee handles foreign currency and then exchanges it for local currency, keeping the difference for herself without the institution's permission, this is impermissible (haram) because she has taken what is not rightfully hers. The difference in exchange rate must be returned to the institution. If something else is intended, please clarify so that a ruling can be given.
