What are the types and method of stoning (ramy) during Hajj?

The jurists have agreed that the stoning of the Jamarat is one of the obligatory rites of Hajj, and failing to perform it necessitates a compensatory sacrifice (dam). For its validity, it is stipulated that it be preceded by entering into ihram for Hajj and standing at Arafat, and that what is thrown be a stone. On the day of Eid, Jamrat al-Aqaba is stoned with seven pebbles. As for the أيام التشريق (the 11th, 12th, and 13th days), all three Jamarat are stoned, each with seven pebbles, starting with the minor (sughra), then the middle (wusta), then the major (kubra). It is recommended to say "Allahu Akbar" with each pebble and to supplicate after stoning the minor and middle Jamarat.
