How is the inheritance divided among the wife, the two sons, the two grandsons (sons of a son), and the son of a deceased grandson (son of a son's son)?

The wife receives one-eighth due to the existence of a direct descendant, based on the Almighty's saying: "But if you have a child, then for them [the wives] is one eighth of what you leave, after any bequest you [may have] made or debt." The remainder goes to the two sons by ta'sib (residuary heirship), equally, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Give the prescribed shares to those entitled to them, and what remains is for the closest male heir." There is nothing for the grandsons as they are excluded completely by the direct son. Thus, the inheritance is divided into sixteen shares: two shares for the wife, and seven shares for each son.
