What is the correct method for reciting (Qur'an) over water, how should it be drunk, and what are the times for drinking it?

There is no specific method or time for drinking water over which Ruqyah has been performed. Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned that he would recite Al-Fatihah over Zamzam water and drink it, finding benefit and strength in it. Ibn Muflih mentioned that Imam Ahmad would recite over water for his son Salih to drink and wash his face and hands with. Imam Ahmad himself would seek refuge through water, recite over it, drink from it, and pour it over himself.
