Is it permissible to have intercourse with one's wife if a red discharge, then a viscous white discharge, comes out of her after her ritual purification, and her usual menstruation has not yet occurred?

The minimum duration of menstruation, according to the majority of scholars, is one day and one night. This is the view of the Shafi'i and Hanbali schools of thought, in contrast to Malik and Ibn Taymiyyah, who did not specify a minimum duration for it. Based on this, if the red discharge seen by the wife lasted for a day and a night, then it is menstruation, and she was obligated to perform ghusl (ritual bath) after becoming pure, and intercourse with her was not permissible before that. In the event of intercourse before ghusl, repentance is obligatory, and there is no expiation according to the Hanbalis. However, if the duration of the discharge was less than a day and a night, it is not considered menstruation according to the majority of scholars, and there is no harm in having intercourse with the wife.
