The answer

Prohibition through fosterage is established by the Quran, the , and the consensus of Muslims. Allah Almighty says: "Prohibited to you are your mothers... and your foster-mothers, and your foster-sisters." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Fosterage prohibits what birth prohibits." Whoever is a Muslim has no choice but to submit to this ruling, even if they do not know the wisdom behind it, for Allah Almighty says: "It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should have any option in their decision." The wisdom behind the prohibition through fosterage is evident, for the wet nurse resembles the mother, as she nourished the infant with what sustained him in the early stages of his development; thus, she is a mother after the [biological] mother.
