What is the ruling on the Imam pausing between two integral parts of the prayer for a duration sufficient to say "Subhanallah" once or more, such as pausing while neither standing nor prostrating?

We understand from the question that the worshiper pauses during the transition between the pillars of prayer to place the microphone to his mouth and then perform the takbir. This pause is not prescribed, as it has not been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who commanded us to pray as the Companions saw him pray.

The jurists have recommended that the takbir begin with the commencement of the transition and extend until reaching the next pillar, in order to fill this period with remembrance. This contradicts the aforementioned pause. By doing so, the worshiper abandons a recommended act and performs something that has not been reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

Nevertheless, this action does not invalidate the prayer because it is among the minor movements that do not affect its validity, and it does not necessitate the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud (definition) al-sahw). The movements that invalidate the prayer are those that are numerous and continuous without necessity.

However, if this pause is due to an urgent need, such as weakness or illness, then there is no harm in it, as Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity.
