A brother through fosterage does not inherit. As for a brother from the mother's side, he inherits one-sixth when alone, or one-third with others, provided there is no inheriting descendant or inheriting male ascendant. A brother from the father's side, however, inherits the remainder or shares with his siblings, provided there is no father, inheriting male descendant, or full brother.
