Is it permissible to eat from an animal slaughtered by a Christian, after he stunned it and slaughtered it while invoking God's name over it, in the presence of a Muslim who then completes the butchering, skinning, and cutting, given the unavailability of halal slaughter and the need for fresh meat?

It is permissible to eat from the slaughtered animal of a Christian, by agreement of the jurists, as long as no name other than Allah's was mentioned over it, due to the Almighty's saying: "And the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you." The fact that the one who mentions Allah's name is someone other than the slaughterer does not change the ruling. Nevertheless, it is advisable to emigrate from the lands of disbelief unless there is a need or a legitimate, recognized interest, due to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "I am free of any Muslim who resides among the polytheists."
