Is it permissible to urge a child to raise his voice when reciting the Quran by saying, "Raise your voice so that Allah may hear you"?

This statement is reprehensible, and it is not permissible to utter it or teach it to children. Allah hears both what is declared and what is hidden, and He knows what is concealed in the hearts, as He says: "Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private counsel? Yes, and Our messengers are with them, recording." (Az-Zukhruf: 80).

A child can be encouraged to raise his voice by encouraging him to recite the Qur'an melodiously and loudly, or by saying: "Raise your voice, for we love your voice when you recite the Qur'an." However, it is not permissible to make him understand that Allah hears only what is declared and not what is hidden.
