Do girls have the right to claim their inheritance after verbally renouncing it, especially since the legal ownership of the property is still in the name of the deceased father?

If the sisters voluntarily relinquish their right to the inheritance while they are of sound mind, they cannot retract that, because a gift becomes binding upon possession and it is forbidden to retract it, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "The one who retracts his gift is like a dog that vomits and then returns to its vomit," and "It is not permissible for anyone to give a gift and then retract it, except a parent in what he gives to his child."

However, if the relinquishment was out of shyness or coercion, they have the right to retract it, and their right must be restored to them, because the wealth of a Muslim person is not permissible except with his willing consent.

If one of them was not of sound mind, her relinquishment is not valid.

Accepting a sister's gift to her brother from her share of the inheritance is permissible if she is of sound mind, as Sheikh Ibn Baz fatwaed.

And if the mother has taken possession of the money, it is not permissible to retract it, as stated in the fatwas of the Permanent Committee.
