ما هو الحديث المرسل؟

The mursal hadith is a hadith narrated by a Tabi'i directly from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, without mentioning the Companion from whom he narrated. Muhaddithun, especially the early ones, may also apply the term "mursal" to any discontinuity in the chain of narration.
