Is it permissible to hit the son of the one who attacked my son, by analogy with the Almighty's saying: "So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you"?

An adult man does not have the right to hit a boy who hit his son, because the noble verse (So whoever transgresses against you, transgress against him in like manner as he transgressed against you) does not apply here due to the lack of equivalence between a boy hitting and a grown man hitting. Jurists have differed regarding qisas (retribution) for a slap, a punch, and similar acts among adults. The majority view that it necessitates ta'zir (disciplinary punishment) and not qisas, while what is narrated from the Companions is qisas. As for minors, there is no qisas between them; rather, the aggressor among them is disciplined if he is discerning or near puberty. A teacher may hit a boy for disciplinary purposes under certain conditions, such as the hitting being customary for teaching, with the hand and not a stick, not exceeding three blows, with the guardian's permission, and the boy being able to comprehend discipline.
