Is it permissible to prevent pregnancy for a patient with lupus erythematosus, knowing that pregnancy activates the disease and poses a danger to her health?

If it is highly probable, according to reliable doctors, that pregnancy will worsen an illness and lead to complications, then it should be temporarily halted. If pregnancy poses a danger to the woman's life, it is permissible to terminate it permanently. It is forbidden to remove the ability to procreate (sterilization) except out of necessity according to its Sharia standards. Temporary birth control is permissible to space out pregnancies or halt them for a certain period if there is a legitimate need, provided that no harm results from it, that the method is lawful, and that it does not constitute aggression against an existing pregnancy. Absolute prevention of pregnancy is not permissible except in rare individual cases, such as the danger of pregnancy to the woman's life due to illness or similar conditions, which the Sharia has exempted to avert harm and bring about benefits.
