Is it obligatory for one who wishes to embrace Islam to know the answers to some of the misconceptions (shubuhat) that people fall into, such as the اختلاف المذاهب (disagreement among the schools of thought), or is it sufficient to leave them?

Whoever wishes to embrace Islam must pronounce the two testimonies of faith (Shahadatain), adhere to the outward rituals of Islam, and learn what corrects their belief, acts of worship, and dealings. They are not required to learn how to refute misconceptions (shubuhat); rather, they are required to avoid the causes of trials (fitan) and misconceptions. If a misconception arises, they should ask people of knowledge, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "So ask the people of the message if you do not know."
