What is the meaning of Allah's Name, Al-Hakim (the Most Wise)?

The name of Allah, "Al-Hakeem" (The Wise), carries several intertwined meanings. Firstly, He is "Al-Haakim" (The Judge/Ruler) over His creation and upon them, by His cosmic and legislative decree, which cannot be altered. Secondly, He is "Al-Muhkim" (The Perfecter/Master) who perfected, mastered, and beautified His creation. His handiwork is precise, even if its outward appearance seems otherwise, and its beauty lies in the excellence of His planning. The third meaning is that He is "Dhul-Hikmah" (Possessor of Wisdom). Allah the Almighty acts only for great wisdoms, and all His actions and dispositions are well-founded, not vain or futile. Wisdom is the act of putting things in their proper places.
