It is not permissible to marry a thrice-divorced woman until she marries another husband, he consummates the marriage with her, and she tastes his sweetness. A mere marriage contract with a man who dies before consummation is not sufficient. Lawfulness (for the first husband) is not achieved by the contract, but by consummation. The death of the husband is not considered consummation for the purpose of making her lawful (for the first husband).
