What is the ruling on selling alcohol and lottery tickets in non-Islamic countries, and is the money resulting from that permissible to feed one's children?

Selling alcohol is forbidden, even if it is to non-Muslims and in non-Muslim countries. As stated in the Hadith: "Indeed, Allah has forbidden the sale of alcohol, dead animals, pigs, and idols." The scholars have reached a consensus that selling alcohol is impermissible. Similarly, selling lottery tickets is forbidden because it is a form of gambling (maysir). Any money a Muslim earns from selling alcohol or lottery tickets is unlawful money that he is not permitted to possess or benefit from. He must repent and give all the unlawful money away as charity. If he is poor, he may give it as charity to himself or his dependents.
