The question

Is my action correct in not considering light brown discharge before menstruation as menses? And is my prayer valid if something is discharged from me during ablution or prayer, knowing that I perform ablution for every prayer? And will I be held accountable if I do not arrive at the correct Islamic ruling? And what is the ruling on my prayers given my doubt about the source of air bubbles (before I followed the fatwa of Ibn ‘Uthaymeen)? And is my prayer valid if I do not follow the Hanbalis in the takbir when rising from prostration, or if I do not hear during the rising from bowing?

The answer

What the questioner is doing is correct; the brownish discharge is not considered menstruation unless it is connected to blood. It is sufficient for her to perform ablution after the time for prayer begins if the discharge is continuous. She should not pay attention to her doubt about passing wind. The takbirat al-intiqal (takbirs during transitions in prayer) are according to the majority of scholars, and she is permitted to adopt this view as long as she is afflicted with waswasah (obsessive whispering/doubts). She must strive against these waswasah and ignore them.
