Is it permissible to perform supererogatory prayers immediately before or after obligatory prayers, or must there be a long interval between them?

It is recommended for the worshiper to separate the obligatory prayer (fard) from the supererogatory prayer (nafilah) by speaking or by moving to another place. The best option is to move to perform it at home if it is a post-prayer (ba'diyyah) supererogatory prayer, or to perform it at home and then come to the mosque for the obligatory prayer if it is a pre-prayer (qabliyyah) supererogatory prayer. This is because the best prayer a person performs is in their home, except for the prescribed (obligatory) ones, and also to distinguish the supererogatory prayers from the obligatory ones, and to multiply the places of prostration that will bear witness for the worshiper on the Day of Judgment. Whoever does not move, then they should separate them by speaking. Some scholars are of the opinion that moving is not recommended due to the weakness of the narrations concerning it.
