The Bohra are an Ismaili sect from India and Yemen, known for trade, and their name means "merchant" in Hindi. Their beliefs include faith in an infallible Imam from the lineage of Muhammad ibn Ismail, the Hidden Imam, elevating the Imams to the status of divinity, and the concept of transmigration of souls. These beliefs are infidel (kufr) and put them outside the pale of Islam. Therefore, it is not permissible to marry those who adhere to them, for Allah Almighty says: "And do not marry polytheists until they believe." What matters is what a person believes, not merely their claim to be Muslim.
