Intentionally engaging in sexual intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan is a sin that necessitates repentance. Intercourse occurring twice on two consecutive days results in two expiations (kaffarat). The expiation is to be performed in order: fasting for two consecutive months for each expiation. If one is unable to do so, then feeding sixty poor people. It is sufficient for the feeding to enable the poor person to obtain food, but it is more cautious to give each poor person one mudd of the staple food of the land, or half a saa' (approximately 1.5 kilograms).
