What is the ruling concerning the money that the accountant paid to her manager for the purpose of it being disbursed as a salary, but the manager bought alcohol with it despite her prior knowledge of the likelihood of that happening?

It is permissible for a Muslim woman to work in a foreign company if it does not entail any Sharia-forbidden acts, provided that she ensures safety from unlawful seclusion (khalwa), mixing with or touching non-mahram men, and adheres to Islamic rulings regarding looking and speaking. It is also permissible to obey the manager by giving him a sum of money if he is the authorized disbursing officer, provided that it does not involve assisting in disobedience. Otherwise, obedience is not permissible, based on the Almighty's saying: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." Therefore, it is not permissible to continue working in the company if the manager issues an order to assist in an act of disobedience, unless she is in dire necessity. If it is possible to avoid such a request, or if it is known that the responsible person will achieve his goal through another way that does not involve her, then there is no harm in remaining while searching for another job free from unlawful elements.
