What is the ruling on a son or daughter paying for the sacrificial animal or buying the sacrificial animal for their mother?

The sacrificer may include any of his living or deceased relatives in the reward of his sacrifice, and he may also sacrifice on behalf of the deceased independently or as a follow-up to the living.

One sacrifice is sufficient for a man and his household if they live in one house. It is sunnah for the husband to intend it for himself and his household, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did. This suffices for them, and they share in the reward with him.

If the husband does not intend his sacrifice for his household, they are not required to offer one either. If the wife has her own money and wishes to sacrifice from it, she may do so.
