The answer

Your father may take from your money what he needs, provided that no harm befalls you. This is the minimum of what is due to him from you in terms of kindness, for the parent is the middle gate of Paradise, and the son and his money belong to his father. A story was narrated about a man who came to complain to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, because his father had taken his money. Thereupon, Allah revealed to His Prophet a story about the father and what he said to himself by way of reproach to his son. At that point, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to the son: "You and your money belong to your father."
