And would requesting a transfer for my job outside my city be considered disobedience if I seek their permission, especially given my feeling that my parents are ignorant of the religion, and my desire to marry a domestic worker despite my fear of their reaction, even though Islamic law permits it?

The parents' desire to choose a wife should be given precedence, unless there is harm in it for the son. This is due to the predominance of their compassion and their keenness for his well-being, as well as their extensive experience. However, if obeying them entails harm, then there is no sin in disobeying them, while continuously maintaining dutifulness towards them.
