How can one repent of sins, and what is the way to achieve that? Is speaking to people about religious matters considered hypocrisy, and how can one distinguish between hypocrisy and the whispers of Satan, and how can one make one's intention sincerely for Allah Almighty?
"How to achieve regret for sins is explained in Fatwa No. 107223. Speaking about religion is commendable and not part of the blameworthy ostentation (riya'). To understand the reality of riya', please refer to Fatwa No. 35245. Beware of obsessive whispers (waswasah) that might prevent you from performing acts of obedience out of fear of riya'. Be keen on sincerity and do not abandon acts of obedience for this reason. For ways to get rid of blameworthy riya', please refer to Fatwa No. 107568."
