Is it permissible to give charities and financial aid to someone who commits some innovations (bid'ah)?

Assisting a Muslim, alleviating their distress, and fulfilling their needs is an obligation, based on the Almighty's saying: (The believing men and believing women are allies of one another), and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: (A believer is a mirror to a believer, and a believer is a brother to a believer; he safeguards him from ruin and protects him from behind), and (A believer to another believer is like a structure, each part strengthening the other). Love, hatred, giving, and withholding should all be for the sake of Allah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: (Whoever gives for the sake of Allah, withholds for the sake of Allah, loves for the sake of Allah, hates for the sake of Allah, and marries for the sake of Allah has perfected his faith). The rights of mutual support vary according to the degree of faith.

Innovations (bid'ah) vary. Helping the proponents of an innovation that constitutes disbelief (bid'ah mukaffirah) is absolutely impermissible. As for innovations that are merely sinful (bid'ah mufassiqah) or those for which one is excused, they do not prevent assistance. However, it is not permissible to spend money on establishing or spreading such innovations. If it is highly probable that they will use the funds for this purpose and they cannot be prevented, then they should not be given money, based on the Almighty's saying: (And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression).
