Is performing the night vigil (qiyam al-layl) by reciting the entire Surah Al-Baqarah in two rak'ahs every night with the intention of seeking a husband or offspring a legitimate act (mashroo')?

"Night vigil prayer (Qiyam al-Layl) is one of the greatest acts of closeness to Allah, and supplication (Du'a) during it, especially in prostration (Sujud), is more likely to be answered. Surat al-Baqarah is mighty, but there is no evidence that praying with it or reciting it in this specific manner is a cure for sustenance, progeny, and marriage. The fundamental principle in acts of worship is divine textual authorization (Tawqif). A Muslim is permitted to pray with any surah from the Qur'an and to supplicate with whatever he wishes. Perhaps the lecturer intended to encourage people to perform Qiyam al-Layl, as Allah has promised to answer prayers in the last third of the night."
