What is the ruling on reciting the Qur'an for three days with the intention of dedicating its reward to the deceased, and distributing food every Thursday night with the intention of earning reward for the deceased; and will the one who does so be rewarded, or is it considered an innovation (bid'ah)?

Sealing the Qur’an in three days is permissible and lawful for whoever is able to do so, provided it is done with contemplation and clear recitation. This is supported by the hadith of Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. It has also been narrated from the Salaf that they completed the Qur’an in less than three days. As for giving charity on behalf of the deceased, whether food or otherwise, without gathering people in their home, there is no religious prohibition in it. However, it is better not to specify Friday for feeding, as there is no evidence for it. There is no harm in reciting the Qur’an and dedicating its reward to the deceased, according to the preponderant opinion of scholars.
