That which is marked with "All rights reserved" may not be published or copied except with the permission of its owners, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Muslims are bound by their conditions," and his (peace be upon him) saying: "The wealth of a Muslim person is not lawful without his willing consent." Some scholars have permitted personal use, provided that it is not used as a means of earning money. As for anything not bearing this phrase, it is permissible to copy and reproduce it. If permission is unknown, the author or publisher must be contacted. As for reading books published online without copying or downloading them, there is no harm in it if their owners are the ones who published them or authorized their publication.
