Do parents have the right to intervene in their daughter's marriage, to monitor her, and to be annoyed by her spending a long time with her husband before the wedding?

If a Shariah-compliant marriage contract (nikah) is concluded, everything becomes permissible for the man regarding his wife. However, her obedience to him and her maintenance (nafaqa) are not obligatory until she surrenders herself to him, which typically happens after the wedding. Some fathers and mothers do not favor their daughter being alone with her husband before the wedding, fearing problems such as consummation or pregnancy before the wedding is completed. Although enjoyment is permissible after the contract, the wishes and fears of the parents should be taken into consideration. The husband should understand this and be content with family visits until the wedding.
