Is it permissible for a man who has repented from adultery to contact the woman with whom he committed adultery, and to conceal this matter from his wife?

For repentance, three conditions are required: remorse for past sins, abstinence from present sins, and a firm resolve not to return to them, while closing off all avenues leading to them. It is not permissible for someone who has engaged in illicit communication with a woman to continue this communication; rather, he must cut off all means leading to it. We advise the wife to be patient with her husband and help him close the doors of illicit communication, giving him a chance to repent and become righteous, and warning him against trifling with his repentance, while reminding him of the disgrace in this world and the torment in the Hereafter. If the husband is sincere in his repentance and keen on his home, the wife should be patient and overlook the past; but if he returns to his sin, there is no good in him.
