What is the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding dreams? Do they have any meaning, or can a dream come true, or do they not signify anything?
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, divided visions into three categories: a vision from the Most Merciful, a dream from Satan, and a self-delusion. A bad vision may come true, and to avoid the harm of an disliked vision, the Shari'ah has guided us to several etiquettes:
1. That the one who sees the vision should spit lightly to his left three times. 2. That he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil and from the evil of Satan. 3. That he should turn over from the side he was sleeping on. 4. That he should not mention it to anyone. 5. That he should get up and pray.
