Is it permissible for a mother to undergo a liposuction procedure for abdominal fat, and are there any harms in that, and what is the ruling on getting eyebrow tattoos that last for two years?
Liposuction and cosmetic surgeries are permissible if they are for the purpose of removing a defect or disfiguring flaw. However, if they are for the purpose of seeking excessive beauty and prettiness, they are not permissible.
Liposuction is permissible if it is due to an illness or harm resulting from the pathological accumulation of fat, and if weight cannot be reduced by non-surgical methods. However, if weight can be reduced without surgery, or if the purpose is to improve physique and enhance beauty, then it is not permissible to perform it.
As for permanent makeup or cosmetic tattoos, which involve injecting pigments into the skin, they are not permissible because they fall under prohibited tattooing. In contrast, drawing eyebrows with an external substance like kohl and the like is not objectionable.
