Is it permissible to retract a conditional divorce before the occurrence of the act upon which the divorce was conditioned?

The fatwa we follow is that if a husband makes his wife's divorce conditional upon an event, he cannot retract it, and if the condition is met, his wife is divorced. As for the view of Ibn Taymiyyah, if you intended to effect a divorce upon the fulfillment of the condition, then it is permissible to retract; but if you intended a threat or a prevention, then no divorce occurs, and you are obligated to pay the expiation for breaking an oath.
