Do the daughters of a deceased person, who died during their father's lifetime, have a share in his house and private salary?
Daughters are among the inheritors who receive fixed shares. Their share is two-thirds if there is no brother to make them residuary heirs, based on the verse: ﴿But if there are [only] daughters, two or more, for them is two thirds of what he left.﴾.
If there is a wife, she receives one-eighth due to the presence of a lineal descendant heir. As for the father and mother, each receives one-sixth due to the presence of a child, based on the verse: ﴿And for his parents, each of them gets one sixth of what he left if he has a child.﴾.
If the father is alone without the mother, he receives all that remains after the daughters and the wife.
The matter of inheritances is critical and complex, and merely issuing a fatwa is not sufficient. Rather, it must be referred to the Sharia courts for investigation and to ascertain the heirs, wills, debts, and other rights that take precedence over the heirs' rights.
