What is the ruling of Islamic law on separation from a wife due to her chronic illness, which affects her marital life and her ability to bear responsibilities, in addition to the strained relationship with her husband's family?

The majority of scholars hold that the defects requiring disclosure to the suitor and establishing the right to annul the marriage are those that prevent intercourse, or repulsive and contagious diseases such as madness, leprosy, and elephantiasis. Divorce in this case is permissible due to necessity, but it is more virtuous and preferable to endure the wife and keep her honorably, hoping that Allah will cure her and bless them with righteous offspring, for Allah Almighty says: "And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good." (An-Nisa: 19).
