Is it permissible for a man to be shrouded in a Qamis (tunic)?

It is best to shroud a man in three white cotton garments, as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was shrouded. He was shrouded in three white Yemeni garments, without a shirt or a turban. This is the preferred method, even though it is permissible to shroud him in a shirt, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did with Abdullah ibn Ubayy. As for a woman, she is shrouded in a chemise (qamis).
