Is it permissible to buy a Swiss wristwatch that has a small cross emblem on its winding crown or engraved on its dial?

If a watch bears the symbol of the cross, it is not permissible to buy or wear it until the cross has been effaced and removed. If it is effaced or altered in a way that eliminates its shape and form, then there is no harm in wearing it, because the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, would not leave anything with crosses on it without destroying them.
