A husband is not permitted to strike his wife except after admonishing her and boycotting her without success. The beating must be non-violent, not breaking a bone or disfiguring a limb. Striking the face, head, or dangerous areas is prohibited. If the husband strikes his wife unjustly, she has the right to refer his matter to a judge. However, it is advised to be patient, strive for reconciliation, and live with the husband in kindness.
