What is the correct meaning of the the term "al-ahwat" (the more cautious/safer) when jurists differ, and is my understanding of it—that it means adopting the view that does not lead to sin according to all scholars—correct?

Everyone agrees on the validity of the prayer of one who recites Al-Fatihah behind the Imam, with the disagreement among them pertaining to the permissibility of its recitation. However, they differ on the validity of the prayer of one who omits its recitation behind the Imam. Therefore, the precautionary measure of reciting it is for the sake of ensuring validity and to avoid the possibility of the prayer of one who did not recite Al-Fatihah being invalid.
