The answer

We advise you to seek a man who recites the Qur’an well, to avoid suspicion and temptation, especially since a woman's voice is beautiful and could lead to temptation. Students of knowledge and حافظs (those who have memorized the Qur'an) who are proficient in the Book of Allah are abundant. We do not say that a woman's voice is 'awrah (something that must be covered or concealed) or forbidden, but rather it becomes forbidden if one takes pleasure in it or fears temptation from it, as Allah Almighty says: "Then do not be soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is disease should covet, but speak with appropriate speech." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to listen to women, and the Tabi'un (followers) learned from the female Companions, but that was with a normal voice, without beautification or softness in speech.
