Who is more entitled to help, the father or the husband, in a situation where there are many financial debts and it is difficult to reconcile between them?

A son must provide for his poor father. If the father is not poor, the son must still be kind to him. The father's right to financial support and kindness takes precedence. As for obedience, the husband's right takes precedence. Allah has greatly emphasized the rights of parents in many verses, and it is mentioned in the Hadith: "You and your wealth belong to your father." It is also mentioned: "May his nose be rubbed in dust (i.e., may he be humiliated) who reaches old age with both or one of his parents and does not enter Paradise (by serving them)." The husband's right is great, and a woman's obedience to him takes precedence, but he is not obligated to be financially supported by his wife. Regarding financial support and kindness with money, the father takes precedence, especially if he is in need. A wife must balance the rights of her father and the satisfaction of her husband, so she should not neglect her father while helping her husband to the best of her ability.
