Is it permissible to supplicate to Allah by virtue of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and is it permissible to seek assistance from the deceased righteous, knowing that Musa (peace be upon him) asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to reduce the number of prayers on the night of Al-Isra wal-Mi'raj?

Scholars differ concerning seeking intercession through the Prophet's ﷺ prestige. Some permit it, based on the Hadith of the Blind Man, while others consider it an innovation (bid'ah), arguing that the Companions abandoned seeking intercession through the Prophet ﷺ in favor of seeking intercession through the supplication of Al-Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him. The Hadith of the Blind Man is interpreted as seeking intercession through faith in the Prophet ﷺ and believing in him. As for what is heard about the permissibility of the dead benefiting after their death and supplicating for them, it is false and a grave danger. The Prophet's ﷺ meeting with the Prophets was a real and direct encounter, and it does not indicate the permissibility of seeking intercession through the dead or the absent.
