Why was adultery forbidden and what are its harms?

Allah has forbidden adultery due to what it causes: violation of honor, aversion to marriage, mixing of lineages, and the spread of deadly diseases, in addition to Allah's great punishment in the Hereafter and the prescribed penalty in this world. The Muslim must submit to Allah's command, whether they know the wisdom behind it or not.
