What is the ruling concerning a young man whose mother prevents him from going to Fajr prayer in the mosque and from growing his beard, and threatens him with her displeasure if he does so, and how should he deal with her?

Obeying one's parents in an act of disobedience to Allah, such as abandoning congregational prayer or shaving the beard, is not permissible, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) sayings: "There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator," and "Indeed, obedience is only in what is right." However, one must accompany them with kindness and treat them well, and be gentle in addressing them, even if they command polytheism.
