What is the ruling on growing a beard without the parents' consent? Is this considered disobedience (Uquq), especially given the father's strong prohibition? And does the hadith, "What I have forbidden for you, avoid; and what I have ordered you to do, do as much of it as you can," apply in this situation?

Growing a beard is obligatory, and shaving it is prohibited, in order to differ from the polytheists and the Zoroastrians, and because shaving it is a disfigurement that is not permissible. It is not permissible to obey the father in shaving the beard, even if the father becomes angry and boycotts, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to Allah." Disobeying the father in his command to shave the beard is not considered disobedience to parents. "Shaving the beard is unlawful and it is not permissible to do it to obey a parent or a superior." The son should advise his father gently and kindly and explain the religious ruling to him, while supplicating for his guidance and rectitude.
