Is smoking forbidden (haram)? Do angels get hurt by it just as humans do? What should a person do with their smoking guest in their home?

Smoking is forbidden due to the fatal harms it entails, and it is considered among the evil things. This is indicated by the Almighty's saying: (And makes lawful for them the good things and makes unlawful for them the evil things), and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There shall be no harm or reciprocating harm." The angels are offended by foul odors, and the smell of smoking is among them. The host must gently explain to his guest the ruling on smoking, and that it is a sin. If the guest does not stop smoking, and the host is unable to prevent him, or if preventing him would lead to a greater harm, then the host is absolved of sin.
