Is intellectual belief in the existence of the Creator and the miraculousness of the Quran sufficient for Islam, without the need to read the Torah and the Gospel, especially since there are verses in the Quran that declare the People of the Book who did not believe in our master Muhammad and distorted their scriptures to be disbelievers?

Faith is innate and closer to reason. Calling faith hereditary or traditional is incorrect, for faith is the original state of humanity, and disbelief is an extraneous imposition, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, I created My servants as monotheists, all of them, but then the devils came to them and turned them away from their religion." Compelling people to engage in the aforementioned scrutiny before believing is not correct. Rather, the first obligation upon a responsible individual is the testimony of monotheism, which encompasses faith in Allah and dedicating worship solely to Him. As for obliging non-Muslims to study the Torah and the Gospel, this is not permissible except for a scholar who can distinguish between truth and falsehood.
